Maschine is more than a software drum machine to me, so I use it differently from the way I use separate hardware drum machines. I've been a Maschine user since it was released, and I also use an MC909, RS7000, EMX1, ESX1, DrumBrute, Electribe 2, and various workstations. Hope that helps somehow but can i ask why the thread? interested in buying maschine or are you an owner and thinking of HW ?

Maschine drum pad Pc#
Obvious con is needing a computer, is that a con? i say yeah, if i have a spare 10-20 or even 30 minutes i turn straight to the HW because it is a no hassle jam for the crack of being an electronic artist, if i have an hour or more I MIGHT turn the pc on at which point i would employ maschine and cubase groove agent BUT i would still be operating the HW machines in tandem
Maschine drum pad pro#
Pro for maschine is power, FX, speed of recording /processing track by track once a pattern is ready etc. Pros and cons - HW drum machine faster to the end result imo, no SW or engine based limiting factors as a drum machine can run 100% all the time but again if using maschine as a 16 voice drum engine for example i can see no competitor. Only other SW drum machines i have are the groove agent in cubase which i also really love and I use maschine as the HW controller for it which almost makes it feel like HW once you have your schit in a pile, nepheton and drumazon which i think are cool for their age but meh personally due to their GUI and often clunky methods arrrggghhhh - oh i used to enjoy KONG in reason (again controlled by maschine) but stopped using that thing so long ago it isn't even funny OF course if you were only using it for drum machine purposes (16 voices) then these issues would not exist - thank all the dickheads begging and pushing for more and more DAW behaviour when it was never intended to be. I love maschine to death and can jam on it for days with no intention or need to come up for air, food, or drink but i would say it gets turned on last for beat creation in comparison to any of the above, if i want to do something itb then yes BUT maschine for me is more than a drum machine/computer whatever, it is a beast in it's own right and does so much outside of the maschine SW worldīAD: since the rewrite of 2.0 it is an inefficient slag, one look at the spec of computer being used by people and it still pushes them to their knees too quickly in comparison to a loaded DAW - they need to sort their software out for modern day computing. In my time i have had a massive amount of drum boxes, i love em.

Will own a behri 808 when it lands and i have an Arturia impact on the way. Pros and Cons of each type in practical use circumstances?been with maschine since it was born - early 09?Ĭurrently i have OT, tt606, sold tr707 recently, RYTM, (desperate for a tr505 or 626 i know lol but we all sin). Would be interested to hear from people that have used hardware drum machines and software based drum programs such as NI Maschine and even some other straight software programs.
